Son of John and Alice Haviland, of St David's, Sudley Rd, Bognor, Sussex. Native of Northampton (Source : C.W.G.C.).

Registered on the Roll of South Africans who fell 1914-1918 edited after the War by the South African authorities.

Died of wounds on the 16th July 1916. The 10th Royal Fusiliers (111th Brigade, 37th Division) was in La Boisselle sector from 8th July and attacked Pozieres on the 15th July.
